I was never a fan of rap music at any time but I appreciated that - TopicsExpress

I was never a fan of rap music at any time but I appreciated that different folks have different musical inclinations and it is important to package the Word in different musical forms for these different demographics because they have to first pay attention to the song to get the lyrics. Well, I discovered a rap artiste called Lacrae a couple of years ago when I heard his Background in a WOW compilation and this year, I finally bought one of his CDs. I listened to it, liked one in particular and moved on. Yesterday, though, after having searched for the CD and finally finding it in a handbag my daughter used over the Summer hols, I played it in my car and fell completely in love with Lacrae. I knew his lyrics were intense but, my goodness, they are so worded! Ive been wondering how to share the ones that really blew me away and so Ive decided to do so in bits - one after the other. Ill actually start with one I dont have on my current CD (I will buy all his CDs) but one I discovered this morning as I searched on YouTube for one to share. Its called Identity and he featured a couple of other guys. The question today is: What gives you your identity? Is it the things you possess? Or the people in your life/you know? Or your job? I have a song I have yet to record which states without reservations that my identity is found in Jesus. Is yours? Do watch this video because it has the lyrics on it.
