I was nine months pregnant with Elijah. Michael and I were napping - TopicsExpress

I was nine months pregnant with Elijah. Michael and I were napping on the sofa. I jumped up and realized it was time to pick Alex up from K. The tv was on the today show and the world trade center was on fire. I told Michael to wake up becuz something was happening. A plane had crashed. I ran out the door to get Alex at the corner at school....told a few of my friends something was happening in NY. I rushed back.home where Michael was standing with his arms crossed in front of the tv. I stood beside him with my hands on my huge belly and we watched live as the second plane hit the building. I have chills right now just thinking about it. I began to cry and was stunned. It was shocking to watch your country being attacked. Michael was angry, pumped, and ready to out on his uniform. Again I get chills. He knew what was coming next. The phone rang and we were told flights were cancelled and we could not fly to Naples so that I could give birth until they opened again. Michael and I joined our friends and fellow service men that night at church. Such a sad and unforgettable day. I am so proud to have served the best country on earth for 19 years along side my husband. I will never forget that day.
