I was nominated by Obie (Frederick James Oberholzer) to say 7 - TopicsExpress

I was nominated by Obie (Frederick James Oberholzer) to say 7 things about myself that people may not know about me here goes! 1. Born in Shabani, Southern Rhodesia 2. I was Head Boy, Captain of the First Rugby and Cricket Teams and Chairman of Rotaract in my last year at school. 3. I signed up as a regular for two years with the BSAP Support Unit on leaving school. 4. After Zimbabwean Independence in 1980, I drove my Unit vehicle into Mozambique via Espungaberra just to scout around....I came around a corner in thick jesse bush and ran slap into a Frelimo roadblock .....I was held by Frelimo for a number of hours while i silver tongued their brass into believing it was a goodwill visit. I am to this day still astounded by fact that they swallowed my bulldust and let me go without causing an international incident. 5. I left Zim in April 1983, in a car that had been registered to me but which belonged to another family who had emigrated down south. Remember those days when you could only leave with one car. 6 . I worked in motor vehicle finance with 2 major banks for a period of 26 years before I was retrenched in 2009. 7 . Am pretty much a cripple and unable to stand for too long or walk too far.......all that wicketkeeping in 33 years I guess. I live in Cape Town and love it here. I have vowed that this is as far south as I am prepared to go and this is where I will make my final stand.....lol Thanks Obie...
