I was nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, I accepted but - TopicsExpress

I was nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, I accepted but changed it up a bit. (See my previous post on the topic) The awareness this has brought to help combat ALS is incredible and I hope people continue to support this amazing charity and many others. I just sincerely hope we can find a better way to spread the word about our favorite charities. I will be donating to the ALS Association but also donating to Water Conservation efforts, specifically to the Columbia Water Center (not council as I misspoke in my video). Without organizations like this, the planet cannot support us and we definitely wouldnt be able to even fight ALS in the first place. Ive posted the link below to both charities and hope you can contribute to both. If you take the plunge with water, please consider helping to conserve an equal amount of water to help balance out all the water that has/is/will be used on the Ice Bucket Challenge. Mission Statement of Columbia Water Center: The Columbia Water Center scientists and researchers work in the fields of hydrology, engineering, public policy, agriculture and finance to address sustainable water use and allocation, tailoring their solutions to fit the needs of each region. To donate to ALS: alsa.org/donate/ To donate to the CWC: water.columbia.edu/support/ Im going after major names to challenge as I hope people can take a step back from the bucket and realize there are a million other ways to challenge each other in the name of charity that dont involve wasting our single most precious resource. Run a mile, do burpees, go commando for a day, watch reruns of High School Musical all day - anything works. I challenge Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, anyone with influence, including all 13 of my friends and my dogs.
