I was notified by the GCW CEO & Co-Owner: W. Terry Banner that WWE declined to assist the Osborne children financially but stated that a tribute to Matt would air on that night’s episode of WWE RAW (July 1, 2013). However; no video graphic announcing Osborne’s death was shown before WWE RAW began. No video tribute package aired during the three hour episode of WWE RAW . And not once did the commentary team of “The Voice of the WWE” Michael Cole, “JBL” John Bradshaw Layfield, or WWE Hall of Famer: Jerry”The King”Lawler mention Osborne’s passing. The WWE had blatantly lied in regards to paying tribute to the former Doink The Clown. On July 2nd, I contacted WWE Spokesman, Albert Stavola and requested an official statement from WWE regarding their decision not to assist financially to the Osborne children and a statement regarding why they said they would air a tribute to Osborne but no such tribute ever aired. When I didn’t hear anything from Mr. Stavola on July 3rd, I contacted him again and politely reminded him about my request. I also informed him that the article would be published on WU Online whether or not I had a statement from WWE but I wanted a statement so that way the readers would be able to read WWE’s side of the situation. Whether or not the readers would agree with WWE’s statement would be up to them but at least they would have WWE’s side on the matter.
