I was on a scuba diving vacation on the island of Cayman Brac. The boat was scheduled to leave the dock at 9 am, but two divers were late and we waited. They came running down the dock saying a plane just crashed into the world trade center. His brother, a pilot had just phoned him. The boat left the dock. Scuba diving is a very quiet and soul searching kind of experience. While drifting underwater I remember tearfully thinking of all the souls in the plane and the building. Crying underwater makes it hard to breath. When we returned to the docks at noon we learned the rest. We spent the rest of the week there with people from South Africa, Canada, Belgium, England and Australia. Their reaction of course was the same as ours; shock, fear and sadness. That’s when I realized the war against terrorist had no borders and the prayer for peace was a global request.
