I was part of the historic COPE election victory in 2002. It was a relief to put years of an NPA-dominated council behind us and take deliberate and concrete steps to open up the city to all who lived here, not just property owners. And to restore city services that worked for all (anyone remember the four month transit strike under the NPA??). Vancouver has become more open, transparent, inclusive, and vibrant under progressive majorities on Council. Vision Vancouver has evolved into the pragmatic and capable coalition government able to both lead and govern. I for one have no interest in sending Vancouver back to the dark days of library closures, no solution to street homelessness, and no action on climate change. Im proudly voting Gregor Robertson, Vision Vancouver, One City and Public Education Project in this election, and I hope you consider doing the same.
