I was posting a note to Simon Conway and saw another persons post taking him to task for his words about Obama. I couldnt resist: I hope your dad fought--not for any president, nor for the flag, nor for any personality, but for the principles embodied in the Constitution. Simon Conway is a naturalized citizen who appreciates the power of that document. I never had to actually risk my life for my country, but as a military surgeon I took care of those who did. They didnt do it lightly. They did it for the intangibles that bond Americans together. For liberty. For the rights that we have enjoyed thanks to the wisdom of our founding fathers. And unfortunately, Obama has no clue about those values. In his executive orders he tramples on the principles I hold dear. He has opened our borders, made us more and more dependent on government, spit on individual achievement. He thinks we need government to be great. No. We need freedom and the American spirit. I just spent the day in the Hoover Library at West Branch. Hoover was fond of saying: The difference between a dictatorship and a democracy is that a dictatorship is organized from the top down, a democracy is organized from the bottom up. Take a good look at the way Obama thinks we should be organized...I love Thomas Jefferson, but not this cheap suit...Lee Hieb,MD, Candidate Governor, Libertarian Party of Iowa Hieb2014.org
