I was privileged to receive a formal education which included four years of college. But my learning did not end once I walked off the campus. In a sense Ive been enrolled in continuing education classes my entire life. And what Ive Learned outside the classroom from observation and experience has been more valuable than anything I read in a textbook or was taught by a professor. A not the life-long learner expressed his thoughts in Psalms 37:25 when he wrote, I have been young and now I am old and Ive never seen the righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.. Getting old is not an option. Learning as you age is a choice. Just as there can be students in a classroom who fail to listen and learn, the same is true outside the classroom. Some people just dont get it because they dont pay attention to the lessons being taught. David or whoever wrote this Psalm was a keen observer to what was happening to him and to others. And most importantly he rightly concluded as to why such things happened. It was God who protected and provided for his people. Unfortunately, many people just take these things for granted without acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from above. The food on our table. The roof over our head. The health we enjoy. It all comes from God. He never forsakes the righteous. Dont just get older. Get wiser as you live each day realizing how much God lives you and how much you are blessed. #woodswitandwisdom
