I was privileged to see this morning clips from the films in the wonderful line up for this years London Film Festival 8-19th October. I dont quite know how Im going to watch over 200 films , but Ill try and watch a few of them at least! The Gala highlights include the Alan Turing biopic starring Benedict Cumberbatch, THE IMITATION GAME, the Closing Night film - FURY, starring Brad Pitt as a sherman tank commander in the closing days of WW2. FOXCATCHER, with its intriguing and, in the words Claire Stewart, the Fest director, brilliantly unexpected cast, MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN, about loneliness and challenges in the device driven age, and WHIPLASH about a musical prodigy and his teacher, which looks extraordinary. Having just returned from Versailles at the end of our holiday, Im intrigued by Alan Rickmans A LITTLE CHAOS, set in the period of Louis XIV at Versailles, with Kate Winslet brought in to provide some warmth to the strict geometry of the wonderful gardens. So many other worthy pics to mention, but that would be the whole press release - but looking forward to RADIATOR, SERENA, CAMP X-RAY, MR TURNER, DEAREST (I choked in the clip, god knows what the rest of that film will do to me!). Check out the trailer for The Imitation Game for starters….https://youtube/watch?v=S5CjKEFb-sM
