I was probably 13 years old when i made this video, strange how time flies by so fast. Was only yesterday.. i never played the first game or did i own a Dreamcast.. i was to young i didnt know this game existed.. I remember getting a demo of Shenmue II with an xbox i got for Christmas. That little demo was only made so you can experience probably the first half hour of the game. I remember wasting that day buying capsule toys, talking to the various NPCs, playing darts practically rationing everything that the demo offered.. Guess it was a moment of my childhood, People all have fond memories of growing up.. and Im sure like many of the fans. Shenmue played a role in accompanying that early part of life. Since growing up i probably played both games to death, understanding the plot, design, characters, music.. the culture(which in fact was a big part of understanding a part of my heritage, being half Asian yet growing up in a complete Caucasian society) . That total experience was real now and then.. like the old star wars movies. Before impressive CGI and hdmi cords.. we had puppets and our imagination. What im trying to say is that, this series, still to this day.. feel more real than the triple A big budget video games.. Though the story may never be finished or our hopes for it fully realised, least we can do is be thankful for what we did see and experience.
