I was raised in a community where friendships meant you were - TopicsExpress

I was raised in a community where friendships meant you were family. It was an unbreakable and beautiful bond, and we all tried our hardest to understand each other and accept each other. Shallow misunderstandings, or assumptions about situations were never enough to break those ties. Friends love each other on their best days, and their worst. A friendship is not a glass house that should be broken by little pebbles. We all make mistakes, and we all make stunning choices as well. But it seems that in this city the mindset is that people are replaceable. Maybe because there are so many of us. And that friendships are played like games. I am so grateful for how I was brought up, and that I was taught to love, accept, and forgive.
