I was reading 1 Samuel today its telling the story of when the children of Israel wanted a King appointed over them and not a Judge appointed (annointed) of God.They wanted to be like the other nations around them ...and have King rule them. Samuel explained to them what would be lost when doing so...Your sons to the kings army...your daughters to serve in the palace ...the best of your lands...the best of your crops...essentially losing their Freedom by choosing a King over God...Similar in our own lives or at least in my own...Choosing to be like..or to have the things like the world around me....Gotta have more ...Gotta have New...Gotta have what they have...doesnt matter what it is ...if they have it ...I must have it too! When Living ones life..chasing after wants..instead of being perfectly happy with the needs being met. Brings me to this conclusion.
