I was reading a thread concerning the Bill Maher/Ben Affleck kerfuffle. From what I could tell, everyone on the thread was of a liberal bent, but the comments quickly devolved into a heated and pitched skirmish of caps lock shouting and name calling involving pro and anti semite, pro and anti muslim and many angry atheists. A confirmed agnostic myself, Im often puzzled by the raw anger of many atheists. I believe that many people confuse agosticism as a wishy-washy acceptance of an equal credence between belief and non-belief, which couldnt be further from the truth. Just because I dont presume to know the ultimate answers, doesnt mean I dont have a pretty damn good idea of what AINT true. I actually agree with most atheist philosophy, except that I dont share their firm belief that we simply cease to be. I just think that the philosophy of many atheists comes from a place in our brains just as emotional as the place from which religion springs.
