I was reading some quotes and passages and ran across this one, and it really made a lot of sense, I have held grudges, with my past and bad ones when my son passed away, because he was talked about or down on his funeral day(funny thing is, they never knew I knew of it, wasnt bad enough I lost part of my world and Life, they had to take jabs at what little comfort I had, < I was so damn mad, and could have cut through metal with the fury of fire I felt for some, BUT, I have come to realize, the burden is not theirs, for doing that, it was tacky, but, the burden was when I let it get to me, I grew from that, and it took me a long time, and I forgave them for that But, I dont forget! , BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I forgave myself, because I let it bother me and make me sick and weary, I know now it wasnt my problem but theirs! So, I have posted this passage that I read, and I agree with it totally, and I am at peace now!! So if you ever wonder what is wrong with me, Just take some time and think about it, Many say I am hard, and unforgiving, I have pretty much been like that. But, I am a bigger person than this!!! YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN APOLOGY TO FORGIVE Life gets much easier when you learn to accept all the apologies you never got. The key is to be thankful for every experience – positive or negative. It’s taking a step back and saying, “Thank you for the lesson.” It’s realizing that grudges from the past are a perfect waste of today’s happiness, and that holding one is like letting unwanted company live rent free in your head. Forgiveness is a promise – one you want to keep. When you forgive someone you are making a promise not to hold the unchangeable past against your present self. It has nothing to do with freeing a criminal of his or her crime, and everything to do with freeing yourself of the burden of being an eternal victim.
