I was reading the Sunday paper last week. and they did a article on a WHITE Christian Couple Who moves into houses in lower income neighborhoods here in Cahrlotte. So basically living in the hood. Anyway interviewing the White Christian man. He said he does it to build the community. He then went on to say he gives the kids a sense of pride in them self because its hard to have anything to look forward to when you are economically challenged, kids like trayvon Martin , Mike Brown , ETC. are getting killed with no recourse. That punched me in my heart. I said to my self no way in sams hell will I be around and another person from another race and different background have to instill self Pride in MY KIDS. I really need to reach these kids in lower income communities to let them know they can achieve anything they want with hard work in the correct lane.. FATHERS THE TIME IS NOW TO STEP UP. You dont have to be rich or on a path to be rich to let your child know they matter.
