I was really hoping the double negative somehow meant I actually was chosen - but the rest of the email made it pretty clear - I was REJECTED... Seriously - neither of your submitted talks was not chosen... argh! Rules of the english language suggests that means both of my talks WERE chosen... ================ Our judging process for Ignite Phoenix #16 is complete. Unfortunately, neither of your submitted talks was not chosen for this event. That said, we’re sure you know rejection is only a speedbump on the road to greatness. Madeleine LEngle’s A Wrinkle in Time was rejected by at least 26 publishers before she found one who understood her vision. Similarly, Adam Birch, presenter of “The Art of Video Games” at Ignite Phoenix #7, submitted his talk for three separate Ignite Phoenix shows before it was chosen (and when it was, he killed it!) The judging panel changes for every Ignite Phoenix, which means that each event has its own unique mix of topics, genres, and themes. Just because your talks weren’t chosen for this one doesn’t mean one of them wouldn’t be chosen in the future -- as long as you re-submit them.* Thank you again for being part of the growing Ignite Phoenix community. Your courage, confidence, and willingness to contribute has inspired us! Sincerely, -The All-Volunteer Team at Ignite Phoenix *Submissions will open again immediately after Ignite Phoenix #16 and we encourage you to resubmit at that time.
