I was really very disturbed and disgusted by reading statement of Dr. Pyara Lal Garg, former registrar of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences that Dr. Tejbir Singh turned medical education into a commodity and betrayed poor students of the state, “To favour medical education dir, rules thrown to the wind” Hindustan Times dated 27.4.14. Such a statement from a senior person like Dr. Pyara Lal Garg exposes bankruptcy of thoughts and criminal bias to wards Dr. Tejbir Singh because he know that DRME has almost no role in deciding the fee structure in medical colleges and it is the Chief Minister, Medical Education Minister and the principal secretary medical education. Even if the DRME is interested and want to favour medical colleges he can’t do it without sharing the reward with all the above said politicians and bureaucrat. Question is why Dr. Pyara Lal is blaming Dr. Tejbir Singh why not the Chief Minister and The Medical Education Minister. As far as the promotion out of turn is concerned, it is the norm of all the state as well as the central governments to promote the competent or favored officer as the case may be. Take it for posting of DGP or the Army Chief it is occurring all the time. I am sure in case of Dr. Tejbir Singh it was honesty, competence and straight forwardness which was considered especially the dynamic health secretary, Ms. Vini Mahajan.
