I was reminded that it was 4 years ago tonight that I was playing - TopicsExpress

I was reminded that it was 4 years ago tonight that I was playing in a tennis tournament and ripped my quad tendon chasing down a drop shot. I ripped the quad tendon from the tibia and tore up the meniscus, just for good measure. I was carried from the court, major surgery followed -- they had to drill holes in my tibia and reattach my quad tendon -- spent three months on crutches, had PT twice a week ... I started out on my first day of rehab with only 20 degrees of knee bend, and did home PT three times a day. Every degree of bend was hard fought to achieve and I left every PT session drenched in sweat and worn out, but sure that I was just a little closer to being 100%. I had a great surgeon and equally fantastic PTs ( Jessica Winterburn Rhoades and Shane Geiser) who gave me my life back! Thanks to Rob Whitsitt, et. al., for carrying me off the court and for everyone who helped get me back on my feet ... literally. Those were dark and miserable days! And for all of my PT and OT friends, thank you for what you do! You guys are the best!
