I was running tonight. The trickling, sprinkling light rain had everything wet. The low hanging, blinking yellow traffic light was bouncing its illumination off of the puddle mirrors on the black river, paved road. Turn right to i81 or turn around and the library is nestled a half mile back on the right. Lions field is covered in evening dew and the bleachers provide me with water to wash my forehead. The whole time a gentle breeze mixed with this cool, humid atmosphere reminds me of days gone by, or rather nights running the roads back in St. Pete, the 727 where I half way grew up and learned important lessons later improved upon. Where my first extra-familial dads, granddads, aunts, uncles etc decided to show me love as Jesus showed them love. Usually I get to lay flat on my back and see the sky in its full glory. 180 degrees by 180 degrees as you can only properly do when laying on the ground on your back. But tonight the gray clouds clouded the stars. And while I love them when they provide rain on my room while I read or nap, I get a little upset when they steal my starry, navy blue skies. Though what would this awareness and observation have been tonight without there presence? So tonight I am thankful for gray brown clouds covering White Pine.
