I was saying to a couple of people that comedians often suffer from depression/bi-polar (I have bi-polar, too, know what its like), and they get depressed, as I see it, for two reasons: if they are due to perform, they have to sometimes force the humour, understandably, and the coming down from the performance and the applause, when there is silence, can be devastating. The performer is left only with himself. The second type of depression can be due either to not being successful (the Im a failure and always will be and always have been mentality) or not feeling as though one is successful enough, even with the public accolades. One wrong look or comment from someone else, even if that person is a stranger, can be devastating. At such times, God seems very, very far away.
