I was sick last week and evidently I just have passed it to Dawson. Poor guy has been battling with high blood sugars all weekend and week. I have tried hard to stay on top of it this week- and it is emotionally draining as well as frustrating as hell. I set my alarm to get up and check his blood sugar to make sure he didnt go low-since he is requiring so much extra insulin and will do it again in a couple hours. I dont say it as much as I think it- but I hate diabetes. I really do. Its a disease that never stops and never stops taking. True that we can coast for a while- but I always know that something as simple as a cold can put him in the hospital if Im not diligent on my end- and sometimes no matter what I do he ends up there anyway- even with 20 finger pokes and countless insulin adjustments daily this week. Just venting after a tough diabetic mom week. :( Im ready for him to be over this already.
