In Northeast Reading they would block off all the streets that crossed Pike St. I would sled from Oak Lane down to 9th St. There was that little traffic . Wow! Because of the steep slope and speed you would pick up on the way down, the City would Cinder the 900 Block Pike street to help you stop before you could go out on to 9th St. which was open for traffic Then I would walk all the way back up to Oak lane and do it again.
