I was six years old and was at school, 1st grade, my teacher, Ms. Beverly, was called out to the hall, we had just came back from lunch, she came back in crying, I remember she took off her glasses, and was sobbing. She said Children President Kennedy has been shot and has died, I knew who he was because even though I was young, my parents liked him a lot and thru them I knew him and his family. I remember I did not cry until I saw my parents cry. We lived in Columbia, Tennessee & I remember we went to church that night for prayer. I remember the tv being on all day and night and believe me that was odd then. I remember Oswald being shot live on tv, I saw that, only because my daddy would insist I watch all that was going on, he kept saying watch, this is history, now I am glad I did . Regardless of your politics it was sad for everyone that day, our President was shot in broad day light on a street in a horrific way . The best quote I heard to describe that day was by news anchor David Brinkley...Today what happen was too much, too fast and too ugly. Gods be with us. Two other things that affected me like this was when President Reagan got shot, I just cried, but thank God he lived and 9-11, I still sob watching footage of 9-11 now. History, it is what we are, God Bless the USA.
