I was so devastated yesterday I just couldnt write anything, We have been a member of this group since 2008 ( not at all proud of it). My Lilly has fought this disease for almost 7years now, shes been through 4 relapses ( now # 5) she has been on deaths door more then once, and has fought hard to stay alive, she finely was in remission even though she was still on a very low dose of prednisone since last January 2013, I then started lowing that dose witch was 5mg every other day, as we did it very slowly in Oct of this year all her numbers were maintaining the same reading for months she was taking 1mg every 4 days, in Nov we finely stopped the preds, still maintaining a good blood reading ,a fews weeks ago I ask Calllie, for some advise as I thought Lilly might be starting to have a problem with wetting on her bed, took her to the vet and she had a urine infection, but all blood was good, took her in for a recheck on Monday, her urine still has the infection and now her red cells are way down, WTH. I HATE THIS DISEASE.Today is her 9th Birthday, my baby been sick since she was 21/2 years old. she has been cheated out of so much life, she cant play like other dogs, she cant go for walks or run in the parks and cant be a Irish Setter. and Im so heart broken for her, but I will put my big girls pants on this morning and start fighting this monster again. Keeping my baby alive as long as I can. I will love her for all of my life and beyond all of hers forever.
