I was so upset after reading a characters depiction of a black man by one my favorite authors, Stuart Woods (New York Dead). Ive been reading him for many years and while he always describes the Irish, the Russian (mob), the Italian (mafia), etc- my first time reading about a black man (ghetto, dirty, thuggish) was disturbing. I wrote him a lengthy letter voicing my concern as a reader and asked his personal opinion of the black man.
