I was sorry to hear that Joe Cocker passed away. It seems as we get older we begin to recognize more of the famous people who pass away. They were a part of our lives in a way so we know more and more. My first exposure to Joe Cocker wasnt when he was rediscovered with his like You Are So Beautiful or Up Where We Belong. It was when he first made his mark on music, back when he toured with Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I heard that album at my cousins and I thought what great music was being pushed out by this group. Not only was Cocker on the album but his band leader was Leon Russell, another great musical icon. The song that I always think of when I think of Joe Cocker is The Letter with his slamming vocals and Leon banging away on a real actual piano, something missing in todays music unless a performer does a ballad. With the exception of John Belushis hilarious parody of Cocker (which he did a duet with him of) for me this will always be the Joe Cocker that I remember. RIP. https://youtube/watch?v=4RnjWLVyMps
