I was spit upon. World War I vets were adored and revered. WW II vets came home to welcoming embraces and adoration. Korean police action vets were treated with respect. Desert Storm Veterans are heroes, as are all of those who are fighting in conflicts too new to be named. Those in the Vietnam War era came home to picketing liberals... we came home being spit upon in airports and given the finger by those following the lead of people like Jane Fonda, partying with and being photographed sitting on Viet Cong tanks with enemies of the United States. Most of us stopped traveling in uniform. Many of us are now begging on street corners for food. Thanks to the Lord, Im not one of these who are homeless. We were serving our country before there was a sickness called PTSS. Give thanks in 2015 to ALL veterans and remember that there are a whole generation of us who were disrespected by a generation of flower children for serving our country. God bless ALL of our military veterans, regardless of the eras and battles in which battles they fought.
