I was sure I didnt deserve to be there, and I couldnt understand - TopicsExpress

I was sure I didnt deserve to be there, and I couldnt understand why I was. I mean, every other person should be there but me. And I had a good reason, too—I got the highest score! I beat even Nike, the most brilliant student in my class at the time. So why was the teacher punishing me? I could not understand it then, but now I think I do. And maybe you will, too, when I tell you the full story. See, the thing was, we had a Biology test in class back in 2001. I was in SSS1 at the time, in Ansar-ud-Deen Model College, Isolo. I was the sharp-mouthed, comedic, most diminutive lad in the class, so I normally divided opinions; some people thought I was really cute, while others thought I was a total imp. Of course, if youve had one of such in your class, you can only imagine how nasty I would have been to certain fellas! Biology was one of my favourite subjects then, alongside Geography and English Language. (Gosh, I hated Mathematics and Physics!) So I always expected to do well in Biology tests. And for this particular one, I was extra-prepared. I had resolved that I would beat the top performer in my class at the time, so as to get some feeling of pride. So, I pumped time into reading (I was a smart chap, so time meant like 30 minutes on occasions) and getting ready to take on the best. But there was one aspect of the preparations I had left out. In my carefreeness, I had forgotten to get a pen. I always managed to lose my pen at a frequency of about, well, everyday, so carefree was I. And as was my custom, I had spent all my money on puff-puff and candy in the morning. All my preparation was about to go futile. My contest was about to end even before it began. My potential result was in jeopardy. So I did all I could to get a pen. And all I could get in the end was a green pen. So I used it. The teacher was disenchanted with my choice of colour, though. And that was why I found myself alone in the staff room, kneeling beside the Biology teachers desk, awaiting the final verdict, which I learnt was to wash the school lavatory for a week (eewwwww, gross!). And, although I had scored a 100% (Nike actually scored 95%, yaaaaay!), I still got punished because I had failed in one thing. Oooh, such agony! It kind of fits perfectly, I reckon, with what James says in the second chapter and tenth verse of his letter; Whoever breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking them all. I broke one law, just one, courtesy which I became a lawbreaker. We all break Gods laws. And you dont need to sleep with someone who isnt your spouse before youre stamped as a lawbreaker. All you have to do is wonder oh, what am I gonna eat tomorrow? and the sirens go blaring. Whether were aware of it or not, we all write Gods tests with a green pen, and from time to time we will keep breaking Gods laws. King Solomon was very succinct in his declaration of this fact—there is no one who does not sin (2 Chronicles 6:36) and certainly, there is no one so righteous on earth that he always does what is good and never sins (Ecclesiastes 7:20). But I am happy because, although I am occasionally a lawbreaker, I have a Saviour who is not. I have a Lord and Master, Jesus Christ the righteous, who came to fulfill the laws and exceed them in fulfillment (Matthew 5:17, Galatians 4:4-5). He didnt do it for Himself, for He has no need for Himself to fulfill the law. But he did it for me, and for you as well, if you are willing to receive it. Jesus is our fulfillment of the law. And we dont have to worry about fulfilling the laws anymore, because when we acknowledge Jesus as our fulfillment of Gods laws, we naturally gravitate towards this fulfillment. And ultimately, He alone gets all the glory. So, I am not afraid when I find that I have written Gods test with a green pen. Because I know He will never ask me to wash the toilet or kneel slavishly, because the law has been fulfilled on my behalf! *sigh* *smile* @MuzikalJaydon
