I was talking about music in another thread and thought Id relate my way of enjoying music. When I love a piece of music, it can really reach me, and I begin to see imagery flashes like the types that Ayn Rand speaks of in The Romantic Manifesto. However, once I have a particular imagery settled, I see that always and it is very vivid. Heres one of my favorites, and I see a story playing in my mind when I listen to it. Its a story about a woman whos husband was torn from her and the demons take him to Hades, where he will spend the rest of eternity. However, she realizes she can rescue him if she enters the caves of Hades with a single candle, representing hope. So long as the candle does not go out as she is descending, she will have the power to meet him again and get him out of Hades. Several times the candle almost goes out, and at one point, the demons circle her trying to snuff out the candle with their evil winds. But she holds the candle high and chases them away. Shes still descending, and when she goes far enough she sees him and he sees her, and they both know he will make it out of there alive.
