I was talking to one of my favourite lady friends this evening, a lady in waiting, a woman of wisdom and laughter. We laugh so hard even when chewing on important issues. She is such a gem. She is a perfect 10 of grace even when she is having a bad day. Like a modern day Esther,never waivering. We were talking about inner beauty and outer beauty and she said something profound. She said that even women who are considered ugly seem more and more beautiful once we get to appreciate their character and personality. Whilst beauty coupled with bad character can be quite distastasteful, beauty with a purpose restores and brings light to a woman in all seasons of her life. I really got to understand why the apostle Paul urges women not to spend too much time pursueing outward beauty but to pursue inner beauty. A beauty of a quite spirit. God help us all.
