I was thinking about a song sung in church recently, Its so Peaceful In the Arms of My Lord. The part in the 1st verse that caught my attention was where it talked about Satan standing and lashing out at us. In my mind I could picture us as Christians standing, as Satan, with whip in hand, lashed out, inflicting troubling wounds. Those wounds might consist of disappointment, troubling situations, stress, temptations, trials, tribulations, sickness etc. Thankfully, when Christ sees we have had all we can tolerate, and the lashes are too much for us to bear, he steps in front of us, the attacks from Satan must cease and he gives us peace. Wise men/women still seek that Prince of Peace. Matthew 2: 1-2 1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. 1 Corinthians 10:13 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
