I was thinking about the past two and half years this morning. I have pulled close to 100 people out of dope houses, sleazy motels, and numerous other bad situations for them to get help. The conversation in my car on the way to detox or wherever I am taking them is always the same. Their dreams and aspirations after they get off heroin; school, work, family, doing, what I do, etc...The truth is I have never been invited to a graduation, a restaurant to celebrate a new job, etc...However, I have been invited to more funerals than I care to recall. I am not trying to be completely negative because this week I did run into a young man I helped a few times last year at a meeting which brought me some peace, This disease is more powerful than any of us can comprehend. Please take a minute today to pray for all those out there that are still lost in the insanity....
