I was thinking there’s just NO reason for us to have become so disconnected from our food, we’ve simply, very slowly, without realising it perhaps, given up our power to big companies. Buying a cheaper imported garlic here, buying perfect looking oranges at the supermarket there, and all of a sudden, we are living in this unsustainable situation where The Big Two control the purse strings for the majority of our farmers and profit is their only motivation. Do you want to be healthy or not? There are ways to eat the good stuff and not spend a packet, but also know that your dosh is going straight into the pockets of our hard working farmers. This short film gives a glimpse of the reality for our farmers, it’s simply becoming unviable for many in established industries, let alone starting up anything. Yes, sometimes it takes a little more planning but try and get to a farmers market, your local organic store, or grow and swap your own. If we don’t show our farmers we support them then there will be more and more stories like this. Don’t get hung up on looks either- ugly veggies rule! https://youtube/watch?v=FyVS6qbdjBI
