I was to meet my school friend Mamta Sharma after nearly over 20 years. We planned to meet at the gate of the college where I studied - H A College of Commerce. I reached there and peeped inside the gate with mixed feelings. There stood the college where I studied. When my friend arrived, we hugged each other and felt everything so same as before. Like teenage girls we giggled and then I told her I wanted to go inside my college and walk around. When I walked in, I saw the peon and he smiled faintly in slight recognition. He asked me in Gujarati whether I have been an ex-student. I nodded gladly in recognition and when I told him I wanted to pose with him for a pic he happily obliged. I along with my friend walked through the college and I felt pure happiness as I sat on the desk I normally used to sit in my classroom :-) Then I met the principal and him on learning my progress till date, was very proud of me (I was the winner of the student of the year award in my college and also the steady representative of my college at all inter college debate and elocution competitions) and out of the blue he requested me to take a lecture for the students of TY Bcom and SY Bcom on life, motivation and self-belief and how I reached wherever I am today. He was proud of me as an ex-student of the college. I agreed and tomorrow I am going to be standing on the platform where my professors stood and taught us and for a change I will be addressing the college crowd. No, I am not nervous and instead happy and proud of doing something for my college that gave me so much. :-) :-) :-)
