I was told by a couple people that it would be difficult for my book, In a Landscape, to find an audience. It’s non-fiction, kind of memoir, I guess. But its poetry. So the genre was always going to be questionable. There’s that. As well, it meanders, one person told me, adding that it’s “too ‘elliptical’ for regular readers and too straight forward for ‘experimentalists.’” But BOA took a chance on it anyway, earning my eternal thanks. That’s a pretty poor sales pitch. OK, here’s another try: It’s December now, and perhaps you’ve been putting off getting a new book of poetry for the holiday season? If so, maybe you might find this book interesting, as it mentions the holiday season at least twice. Do you need samples? We’ve got your samples tight here: The first three sections are at The Poetry Foundation: poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poem/247722 poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poem/247724 poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poem/247726
