I was told earlier something that hurt my feelings.. Somebody told me my education isnt credible because I went to a PWI. Called me a house nigga for not going to a HBCU.. First off let me say, I have nothing against HBCUs.. I think its great to have our own education system. But an education is an education. A lot of people dont get the opportunity to better themselves.. A lot dont even try. For anybody, to go to college and try is remarkable man.. But you will not downplay my education or call me a house nigga because of the route I took. We always preaching that black solidarity shit but out here judging eachother based on education. At one point he asked me if black philosophers or activist were even in the curriculum.. Doesnt have to be, when you care bout your heritage you educate yourself, thats what librarys are for. Yes, I agree it does seem like itd be a cool experience being around people that understand you, however, its even doper helping those who fear and dont understand, you understand you. Its dope going somewhere youre not meant to succeed and succeeding.. Doesnt make me less black, less involved, or less aware.. It makes me dangerous. What today showed me the truth.. There are bad ppl of all colors. A wise man once said, not every white is a racist; not every black is a friend. That is perspective. Stop paying such close attention to race and do your part in helping others understand where you come from and that goes for all races.
