I was told today that if I vote yes I am disrespecting those who fought in the 2nd world war to save our country. This has angered me in a few ways. I couldnt imagine that those who fought in the great wars would have imagined the scene that decades later we would have families starving in our own country. This is a wee video taken from a project operating in the area I grew up in. There was evident poverty visible in my younger days, but there can be no question that this is a problem that has escalated to quite incredible levels and it is those who have the least that are suffering the most. My views on the referendum are not influenced by history but by opportunity. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rid ourselves of the tories forever, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give the people of Scotland the necessary powers to make poverty history and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a fairer, more prosperous society. youtu.be/gXexkSFW3xM
