I was traveling North on 98 heading to Dade City this morning. On the West side of the road traveling in the same direction was a man on a horse, dressed in Cowboy, carrying a black MIA flag. On my way back from Dade City he was still traveling the road. As I got closer, I noticed that he was an elderly black man and I felt like he was most likely a veteran, because of the flag and I assumed he must have been honoring his fallen and MIA comrades. When we past each other going in different directions I hesitated to blow my horn in recognition for fear I would scare his horse and instead I waved. To my surprise he waved back. I felt gratitude, I felt like an honor had been bestowed on me and I felt sadness all at the same time. This Veterans Day will remain with me for a long time...
