I was trying to find an image that illustrated to me generosity. I honestly would not be where I am today without the timely generosity and kindness of people who saw what I was trying to do and lend a hand when I needed it. I remember my wife and I going to Bible School making $3.50 an hour and I couldnt afford even the clothes to go to school and my pastor a poor man himself bought me my clothing and paid my school bill. In turn as a young Bible students saw a young man who literally was walking out of his boots they had no soul and he had a hard job and my wife and I went and bought in boots secretly left him where he normally sat in church. It was my first time to experience that overwhelming feeling. I cant drive by a guy with a sign out without giving him some money and a kind word ever. I can rarely drive by a hitchhiker. I personally subsidized many boys in our program who I believe in but whose family cannot afford a dime. Just today an anonymous donor paid the tuition here for another family who is struggling to keep their boy in our program. I really like the pay it forward or each one reach one mentality. And though this gentleman wants to remain anonymous I would like to say thank you for what you did. Please look into what were doing very very closely. Fly out here for a visit stay awake and scrutinize everything you see. You will find an honest place with great people doing amazing things for desperate families. Ive raised almost 400 kids now and have hundreds of thankful families who credit us with the help they needed and yet I lost my own son to a drunk driving accident. I understand what it feels like to be able to help others and sometimes not be able to reach your own. kin. I think this is the most effective and most powerful ministry of its kind on the planet today. I could be wrong but thats what I believe. And Im working hard to fix everything about it that I dont like. Programs nationally sport it 2 percent to 10 percent success rate and brag about it with drug addicts. We can honestly report 75 to 80 percent success and yet Im still stressed about the 20 percent were not sure about. If you would like to get involved there are ways that you can and one of them is to help some of our single mothers who are struggling to save their kids with an anonymous tax deductible donation. Every penny of which will go to them. Or if you cant do that you could pray for us. You could send cards at Christmas time two boys who have too few. I would love for so many more people to get involved because I know if you saw where your money time and effort went you would feel really good about it.
