I was trying to respond to all of the birthday wishes, but when it reached 200 I gave up. Please dont take as unappreciated if I didnt get a response to you. My seventh decade started by getting a notice that my drivers license had to be renewed, so I went to the DMV here in the Vern and was told i had to take a written test. Since I have a class A CDL i cant take it in mt. V. so i took the book and did some quick study. At Salem Il. I took the first part of the test and aced it, so I was feeling pretty good. I passed the second without much trouble, and moved on to the third part. I got the message that I failed before I finished, so I geared up to retake it. I passed the second time, and moved on to the air brakes section and crashed and burned at about halfway through the test, so I finally retook that and passed. Today we headed for St. Louis for the Tuba Christmas and found that Poplar street bridge was down to one lane and inching along. After suffering this for about thirty minutes, an alarm went off in my car, and the heat gauge was pegged. We pulled off, and shut the engine off, and could hear the coolant boiling. After twenty minutes, I tried to start the car to no avail. we sart for twenty more minutes, and tried again with the same results. After more than an hour, the car started, and we turned the heater on, and popped the hood to the safety position and reentered the traffic. We made it across, and made it to the rehearsal very late. I hope this is not an indication of how this decade is to be!!!!!!!!!
