I was unable to get to sleep last night...I am sitting here watching the sun come up and a new day beginning. I will give up on sleep and start this new day, but I think that today I will give myself a little time to rest and reflect. Losing two dear friends before their time in a year has taught me to embrace each day I am given. I love my friends so much that it leaves a huge emptiness when one of them is gone. I know that they would want me to enjoy life and I will honor them by going out and living it fully, and carry them in my heart....but today will not be an easy day emotionally, so I will let myself grieve, then throw myself into my art and keep busy. Art has such amazing healing properties. Sometimes I think that I was drawn to mosaic because of the symbolic breaking of something and then turning it into something new. Broken and yet beautiful...like life. Wishing everyone a beautiful day/night...depending on where you are in the world
