In this journey of raising chickens, gardening, homesteading, and self-sufficiency, I have learned to say thank-you for the gift of food provided to us. I have come to realize more fully that when we feed them, raise them, and treat them with dignity and allow them to live the way nature intended, they in turn will nourish our bodies with vital, healthy nutrients the way nature intended. I am grateful for this deeper understanding and insight. I am grateful to the other local small farmers who do the same to provide us with the foods we dont raise ourselves.
