I was updating my CV on things Ive done as requested by a mentor and a good friend, and I realised its coming to 4 years since I first came out with a tiny speck of an idea and worked with Simon Chin and Jojo Struys on this. We had no funding, and our idea was to somehow convince 6 local celebrities to help us do a photoshoot for free so we can use social media to create awareness on HIV and AIDS prevention, and to produce a calendar which can be sold to raise money for the PT Foundation in KL. We ended up with 42 local celebrities involved, videos shown on Hitz.TV and in major shopping complexes, Public Services Announcements published in 8 magazines, the calendar sold in the Body Shop and a 2 week exhibition in the Gardens Mall, Mid Valley. There was no monetary sponsorship or payment, and everything was done for free by all parties involved. It was a pretty amazing experience, to be part of something like this.
