I was very disappointed to receive the following email from Mitt Romney. Whod have ever thought he was a Rino. -------------------------------------------------- Dear Stan, By pushing back against an overreaching federal government, Governor Matt Mead has pushed Wyoming ahead. The statistics say it all: • Most Business Friendly Tax Climate (Tax Foundation, 2014) • AAA Credit Rating -- the highest rating possible (Standard and Poor’s) • Lowest Poverty Rate for Children and 4th Lowest for Entire Population (U.S. Census Bureau, released in 2013) • Lowest State/Local Tax Burden in the Country (Tax Foundation, released in 2014) • Unemployment Rate of 3.8% -- 5th Lowest in U.S. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2014) These statistics are not due to chance but Matt Mead’s exceptional leadership and focus on fiscal discipline. In fact, the Wall Street Journal has ranked Wyoming the first or second “Best Run State in the Nation” for the past three years. Stan, you can help keep Wyoming moving forward by voting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19th. I hope Governor Matt Mead’s re-election campaign can count on your support tomorrow in the Primary Election. Born in Jackson, Matt was raised on a ranch where he learned firsthand the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. Those are the same values that guide him as governor where he has been a tireless champion for Wyoming. He is not afraid to take on Big Government. As Governor, Matt Mead is fighting the Environmental Protection Agency to protect Wyoming’s coal industry against the federal governments overreach. He has engaged in more than 25 federal court cases to protect and promote Wyomings energy, mineral, and agricultural industries. Governor Mead thinks Obamacare is wrong for Wyoming and believes Wyoming deserves to make its own healthcare decisions. That’s why one of his first actions as governor was to join the lawsuit challenging Obamacare’s constitutionality. He is a pro-business leader with the jobs record to prove it. Matt Mead has made the growth of Wyoming’s technology sector a priority. This year, Microsoft will invest $274 million in a new data center, bringing their total investment in Wyoming up to nearly $500 million and creating 600 new jobs during data center construction. Under Matt Mead’s leadership, Wyoming has been ranked the state with the number one most business friendly tax climate -- which means more businesses investing in Wyoming and more jobs for Wyoming residents. A conservative through and through, Matt’s values are Wyoming’s values. A strong supporter of the Second Amendment, he stood up for Second Amendment rights by making Wyoming the first state to join the lawsuit that challenged New Jersey’s restrictive gun ownership law to protect gun rights across the nation. As governor, he has reduced the size of the state government, flattened the budget, and added hundreds of millions of dollars to state savings. He believes, as we do, that government should live within its means. I have proudly endorsed Matt’s campaign and urge you to do the same. He is running for re-election in a highly contentious midterm election year and needs the support of conservatives across Wyoming to win a second term. You’ve been one of my top supporters, and I cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. I hope you’ll continue to fight for our shared conservative values by supporting Matt Mead’s re-election campaign and by voting in tomorrow’s Primary Election. Sincerely, Mitt Romney Paid for by Mead for Governor
