I was very happy to announce the Richmond Hill GO Station - TopicsExpress

I was very happy to announce the Richmond Hill GO Station Expansion to residents of York Region on October 22, 2014. Ontario is making it easier for commuters to take public transit with improvements to the Richmond Hill GO Station. Work will be done in two phases. The first phase will begin this fall and will include extending the platform to accommodate 12-passenger cars that represent an additional 320 seats per trip. A new pedestrian bridge will also be built over Major Mackenzie Drive to provide easier and safer access to local transit for the community. In the second phase, a new station building will be built that will give customers better access to the bus loop, Kiss ‘N’ Ride and parking lot. Work is expected to be complete in 2016. Building public transit and creating jobs are part of the governments economic plan to invest in people, build modern infrastructure and support a dynamic and innovative business climate. These improvements to the Richmond Hill GO Station will give the approximately 6,000 commuters that use it on a daily basis a more accessible and efficiently run station and will make public transit easier to use. This is part of our governments plan to tackle gridlock so that everyone can spend more time doing what is important to them and spend less time in traffic.
