I was waiting for Jared outside of the Los Feliz post office when - TopicsExpress

I was waiting for Jared outside of the Los Feliz post office when an old, white, beat up, Mercedes 2400 series rolled up into the red zone. A tiny, elderly lady got out with a letter in her hand. I got distracted by someone talking to Noodle but heard her call out, Excuse me. I dashed over, as I am wont to do whenever I think an elderly person might be in distress, and she said, Could I hold onto your hand to step up to the curb? I held out my hand and said, Sure! She grabbed onto it and pulled herself up to the sidewalk. For a moment we stood holding hands because I didnt want to let go in case she was unsteady on her feet. I said, Do you want me to just drop the letter in the mailbox? She said, Oh. Would you? So I helped her back down to the street and took the letter to the box. She shouted, Dont ever get old! and zipped off in her cool, retro car. But I actually think getting old is where its at because you can just forgo any weird pretenses and hold hands with a total stranger whenever you feel like it.
