I was walking up W 38th St. yesterday behind a mom and her son (the son was around seven or eight years old.) She was telling him something that clearly wasnt what he wanted to hear. He started to protest. As she reiterated the news, adding that she wasnt going to change her mind, he gave her a slight push. She told him not to do that, and he started to hit her. She just kept telling him to stop. Then he roundhouses her in her leg... really hard. She clearly felt the sting. When I saw this kid do that to his mother I wanted to jump in front of them, and get down to his level, grab him by his coat, look him dead in the eye and say in my best Clint Eastwood, Do that to me, just once... cmon... just do it... one time... I beg you... and lets see what happens after. Now, of course I would never do that. But man did I want to. Sadly, as I walked ahead of them, it escalated and she screamed at the top of her lungs for him to stop hitting her. Everyone turned around. It was incredibly sad.
