I was watching Horizon doc about hackers so I wanted to share what I had gleaned and then maybe I would remember it. Sooo... encryption are made up of 2 prime numbers multiplied together. It could be a Very long number with many solutions. The kind that you might set a robot for to run through all the computations. There have been some serious earth threatening hackers that, eg, could rotate the core of nuclear power plant to shut them down. Good when the target is Iran but the same hackers can shut down electrical grids, subways and many other systems that could have dire affect to the city, country, world. Sooo to break these crypts they have developed a quantum processor. Since in quantum mechanic things can be in more than one place at a time, so binary numbers of 0 and 1 could all so be 1 and 0 allowing the program cracker to run all computations at the same time. Anyways, I had a tough time sleeping after watching that. Afraid I might slip off into some quantum dream and that in the world in which I wake up in, might not be the one I had planned for the night before. Hey..... that has happened at least twice, in which case it probable does every morning and ever moment of your life.. not to mention that the ppl you are involved with, friends, family, workmates have also been going through there own changes..... Sooool I picture this person standing in front of an infinite number of doors and even if you had the number of the door you wanted to enter, the numbers on the door would have an infinite range.
