I was watching a show about Barnard College (a private womens liberal arts college) on PBS Channel 13 today and they were talking about the Posture Classes and Posture Exams that they used to have. The last mandated posture exam at Barnard College was in 1972. The person being interviewed on the show was talking like that was a bad thing. The show was a Womens Movement type show and they acted like it was important for the feminist movement to get rid of a class like this. We need posture classes and posture exams for all children - earlier than college - for both boys and girls.
